It Was A Classic Sunday At The 48th Annual Menlo Charity Horse Show 2 500 Strideaway Peterson 3 6 Junior Hunter Classic The competition between the 16 riders in the 2 500 Strideaway Peterson 3 6 Junior Hunter Classic in the Grass Hunter Ring was between some of the strongest junior riders in California In the end it would be Brooke Morin and Glen Haven Farm s Call Me Maybe wholed the victory gallop after two hotly contested rounds Naomi Rubin and Bunistar followed on their heels to take second and Violet Lindemann Barnett and Coronation took home third Call Me Maybe is owned by Mark Miness a friend of my moms and this is my first week riding her Mark showed her last week and could not ride at MCHS so he asked me to ride her I love her she is really nice I thought I could have done a few things in the class a bit better so I am very happy with the win Brooke said Nancy Hey of Strideaway Farms Erin Peterson and her mother Ann Peterson sponsor the 3 6 Junior Hunter Classic Erin explained We love attending and watching the horses on the grass arenas The show has great significance to Nancy as she is legally blind and with the funds raised supporting Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired Winner of the 2 500 Strideaway Peterson 3 6 Junior Hunter Classic Brooke Morin and Call Me Maybe Photograph by GrandPix Photography

1 000 Peninsula Equine Medical Center Adult Amateur Hunter Classic Cynthia Hyde and Hey Sugar won the 1 000 Peninsula Equine Medical Center Adult Amateur Hunter Classic in style against a field of 15 entries Cynthia could not believe she had won the class and was overcome by excitement and joy Jamie Krupnick and Corlando followed on her heels to take second and Rainie Rose took home the third I have had my horse for 2 years as a matter of fact August 5th was our second anniversary together My horse wants to be good and has a heart of gold I just adore him Cynthia beamed This is my first Classic win on Sugar his name describes him perfectly last year we were reserve I am delighted Menlo is so beautiful and special Jaime Sailor Assistant Trainer to Mike Edrick told us more about Cynthia She travelled to the show with Mike Edrick Stables and I have been working with her this week at home she rides with Joe Thorp at Sovereign Place he will be delighted for her The 1 000 Adult Amateur Hunter Classic was sponsored Peninsula Equine Medical Center Russ Peterson MS Animal Nutrition DVM President and CEO Peninsula Equine Inc was in attendance to present the awards Menlo is a classic show and Peninsula Equine Medical Center has been sponsoring the class and been the Official Show Veterinarian since 1979 It s been a great evolution as MCHS has grown and gotten bigger every year This show is so wonderful excellent footing and is much more an A Class show overall than 25 years ago The horses are so well turned out the standards are so high and the adult amateurs riding in this class really enjoy it and get really keyed up prior to the class The horses are now all professional athletes it is all so very exciting to see the changes In the veterinary medical field we always get connect with our clients under difficult circumstances lameness colic to repair and stitch up a laceration to see and sponsor a class where the horses are all healthy and doing what they are supposed to do and people are happy to see me is wonderful explained Russ Winner of the 1 000 Peninsula Equine AA Hunter Classic Hey Sugar Cynthia Hyde Photograph by Alden Corrigan Media

2 500 Pacific Union 3 3 Junior Hunter Classic Champion King Of Hearts Avery Glynn Photograph by Alden Corrigan Media 2 500 Pacific Union 3 3 Junior Hunter Classic It was an amazing week for Avery Glynn and her own King Of Hearts Winning four classes in the division to secure the Championship she and King were also awarded the 3 3 Large Junior Hunter Handy Zone HOTY title Avery finished the show on a high note by winning the 3 3 Junior Hunter Classic Avery s father Ned Glynn of Sonoma Valley Stables was delighted I am really proud of Avery and her new horse King It is really special for him to be jumping and performing the way he did this week and for Avery to be riding so well at such a prestigious event I am so very proud of both of them Avery added It was really exciting for me as he was the only horse I had here at MCHS and I wanted to make it a big deal for him Showing in the Classic was very exciting I felt that I have been riding consistently this week and I am so pleased he performed amazingly all week

ABC7 KGOTV 1 40m JR AO Jumper Classic It was a one two finish for Sophia Siegel as she took home the first place on Classic Verte and second on Eleganto in the 1 40m JR AO Jumper Classic the very final event of the 2018 Menlo Charity Horse Show I have not had either of my horses for very long Elmo I got at in the spring and I got Charlie just three weeks ago in Canada They have both been so incredible and both are horses of a lifetime I was amazed at the results today I get really nervous before my rounds so it was unexpected which makes it all the more incredible when it happened I want to say a huge thanks to my Trainers Guy and Butch Thomas of Willow Tree Farm they always have a plan and as long as I don t mess up I will do well they really are in it to win it I listen to what they say and try my best I also wish to thank my mom and dad they have been my biggest supporters and I am so grateful that they are will to support me in the sport I love so much Winner of the 7 500 ABC 7 KGO TV 1 40 M JR AO Classic Classic Verte Sophia Siegel Photograph by Alden Corrigan Media
